New Feature: Savings Reconciliation

Cloudthread launched Savings Reconciliation to constantly validate savings analytics so that central Cloud FinOps teams can validate any savings reported. If a savings opportunity is marked as Done (either individually or as part of a Thread), Cloudthread will check whether the opportunity still exists (based on Resource ID, Savings Opportunity Category, instance size, and more) and if it still exists the achieved Savings will be clawed back and the Opportunity will return to the Opportunity Explorer in an Active state.

Cloudthread customers are using the Savings Dashboard in order to create financial incentives for teams to act on savings recommendation. Where there is an incentive, there is a risk of “over-reporting” savings or gaming the system. Savings reconciliation inhibits any team from showing savings that weren’t actually achieved.
