New feature alert! Cloudthread is launching Team Filters. These filters allow to adjust platform experience for predefined groups of users (teams), which includes cost visibility control, dashboard personalization and much more.
The experience of each user can be personalized through the Team she belongs to, and the data can be restricted to only the insights relevant to her.
Cloud cost landscape at the large organization is usually complex and overwhelming, even for the FinOps people. Now think of the ordinary stakeholders who get exposed to it through various cloud cost management dashboards, and who are expected to make sense of them and subsequently act in a cost-efficient way. Challenge is apparent here: abundance of data creates an obstacle to clear and concise insight. Add to this the problem of radical transparency created by such a setup, which is not always what the leadership or FinOps team want: getting everyone to see each other's cloud costs is often not the right move.
Cloudthread has introduced a simple solution to the problems above: Team Filters. Now the users of the platform can be assigned to a Team that has custom global filters and dashboards defined. This way the experience of each user can be personalized through the Team she belongs to, and the data can be restricted to only the insights relevant to her. This has been a popular request by our enterprise customers, and the feature has already proven to be very useful for access management and analytics personalization.
